allo knnnnnnighits.

well, I think I've figured it out....what's going on with those "blogging knights"?

Saturday, October 13, 2007

We've been to Dale in the fall many times, it's a tough fish, especially with the drought. I was watching ESPN fishing this morning and they're talking about how far down the lakes are, some over 14'. Fishing is tough all over so don't blame Dale. Besides, it makes for excellent shoes and drinking. It's more fun than working, that's for sure.

I concur, oh magnificent Oge. Haapy Birthday. We are getting married aren't we?

Glad to hear it is a typical fall trip.

The viking is at home and resting. Doctor said I could come down tomorrow, but that I could not drive, so that is right out. I can't lift anything more than 5 pounds for 5 days . He said with my luck I would probably hook into a 10 lb. smallie and would have to cut my line. I think his name is Dr. Comicus (I did hear a drum roll and cymbal clash after he delivered his line).

Weather change probably curtailed fishing for a 24-26 hour period, but now that it is stablizing, you all should slay them.

Hoist a 'tini for me and try not to wear out the dogger too much.

Kisses

HELLO FROM DALE!
To Orv..... Get well... we miss you ya spawn.

To the ex-king.... Thanks for the birthday wishes.
-from Prince Mick Og.

From the new KING (formerly Prince)
We miss you! All is well, and very cold and windy. Fishing has been slow at best. Lala had a 15.5 smallie today, and a couple small bass. Shawn has a crappie in the well, and 3-4 13 inch spots that he didn't keep (to Coop's dismay.) The new King is O for Dale (naturally, he inherits the curse of the former king along with the title.) Tim the Enchanter has 2 Bluegill and nothing else. Gwain has had 1 small Spot. and Cooper has had 18" largie and a 12" Kentuck. The new Prince (Mich Og), has had a small spot. And That's been IT!

We will keep you updated, and we wish you both well.
-Sincerely, The Festering 7

It's Michaleen's birthday!

HAh! the little squint has run off to Dale Hollow on his birthday. Well, I want all of ya ta cheer like good protestants when he returns.

Happy Birthday to Michaleen Oge
May he always have a good story to tell ya.

Invitations sent to Knights

I've sent invitations to all of the Knights, inviting them to post to the blog here. When they all sign

up maybe we can get rid of the email and concentrate here. The stories will be most interesting? We shall watch and pray.

Fall trip and Petro Express

The fall trip is close at hand and the emails have picked up. Oddly enough, the emails started with one from Sir Gawain who had received an email from a friend of his. It was about Hugo Chavez and how Venezuela owns Petro Express (it doesn't), Russian arms deals and Iranian oil drilling of the coast of Venezuela.

That moved into voting for kings, overthrowing of kings, king for a trip and so forth. I will not be able to make the fall trip and they are trying to decide how to overthrow me, at least for the trip. A squinty-eyed Irishman, Michaleen Oge, is their self proscribed leader. He is a deeply religious man, praying often into the wee hours of the morning (BURRAAAPP! OH! merciful father...) and a fine seaman and inspector of houseboat mooring lines.

Trip planning was held at Sir Tim's backyard during the weekly horseshoe pit throw and beer swilling event. I live in Lexington and cannot visit on Mondays. Less than 5 years to retirement and then I'll have more time for socialization.

I have invited them all to sign up by following the link on this page. They should be able to post followups. This new learning is still amazing me and I have more to figure out. At least I have a husband.

Knights of Ni! start a new era

The Knights of Ni!, a traveling group of fishermen (or women) begin a new era in the reporting of their crusades. Now there is not only the web site http://knightsofni.home.insightbb.com but there is also the blog, a possible means of recording our adventures while we live them.

The Knights are followers of Monty Python, Mel Brooks, Zucker Brothers and other zanies. We started out as a group waaaay back in the year 1985 as the Festering Five but the number of people on each trip kept changing. We began bringing cassette tapes of the Python adventures on our trips and after several showings of Holy Grail we changed the name to Knights of Ni! This being a fairly common text string, adding KY to the beginning makes it somewhat more unique.

The average age in the beginning was somewhere in the 30s but now we are aging and most are in their fifties. We're adding new blood all the time which brings in more silliness. Silliness and the Peter Pan syndrome is what keeps us young.

We'll try this blogging thing out for a while and we'll see how silly it gets... hopefulle, very silly indeed, particularly if we can get a government grant from the minister.
